Tue, 27 January 2009 This is a little variation from my normal podcast, and don't worry, I
am currently working on one. I wanted to show a little video I created
of the Youth Group in the parish in which I am a member, St. Aloysius. I am involved
with these kids and thought you would like to see the future of the
Church. Thanks to an incredible youth minister that God has graced our
parish with, Mr. Steven Brooksher, it appears the future is bright!!! Category: general -- posted at: 4:20 PM Comments[0] |
Mon, 19 January 2009 In the 3rd episode, A letter from St. Paul to the Freedom of Choice Act Supporters, I begin with a short history of who St. Paul was as a historical person. Often, as Catholics we tend to read the Scriptures but ignore the person who wrote them. I start with who he was, then on to his missions and a timeline of the epistles that he authored. I finish with a Hot Topic that, us, as Catholics, must do everything we can to defeat. The Freedom of Choice Act. (Don't you just love what it is called, makes it sound all fuzzy and warm) Just what is it and what does it do to current abortion legislation? I explain the key "fundamentals" of the horrific piece of proposed legislation. As always, I welcome feedback to David@TheEveryDayCatholic.comDirect download: Episode_3_A_Letter_from_St._Paul_to_the_FOCA_Supporters.mp3 Category: podcasts -- posted at: 5:58 PM Comments[1] |
Sun, 11 January 2009 In our 2nd Episode we visit with Lucia Leggio and discuss Catholic Universities with particular interest to the one she attended, Christendom in Virginia. We start by discussing the Land O'Lakes statement from 1967 and what sets Christendom apart from other Catholic Universities. She then tells us why she went there, what the academics were like, and how going to a Catholic University enriched her as a Catholic. As always, we love to hear feedback or comments. You can email them to david@theeverydaycatholic.com.Sit back and enjoy the show. You might just learn something! Sun, 4 January 2009 Thank you for logging onto TheEverydayCatholic.com!My goal is to provide an entertaining and educational podcast for you, The Everyday Catholic. So.......just what am I referring to when I use the term, The Everyday Catholic? This is a two-fold answer: 1) An everyday Catholic is your average, everyday Catholic. You go to mass, try to live a Christian lifestyle, and know a little about your faith. 2) The second part is trying to live your life, Everyday, as a Catholic. I intend to create podcasts that will make you learn and grow in your Catholic faith. Hopefully, with every podcast, you will learn a little more about what it means to be a Catholic and how to implement it into your Everyday life.
